Eaton is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Engineer – Product Design in Pune, India, to join our team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to both New Product Development and current product engineering projects related to Torque Control Products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Support: Provide design support for New Product Development and current product engineering projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with technical leads and internal stakeholders, including test labs, manufacturing, and project management, to support design activities from concept to product launch.
  • 3D Drafting: Utilize 3D drafting tools like Creo to prepare packaging layouts and design concepts for current engineering and NPI (New Product Introduction) projects.
  • Engineering Fundamentals: Leverage engineering fundamentals and analytical skills to adopt an analysis-first approach in design activities.
  • Tolerance Analysis: Perform assembly stack-up and tolerance stack-up analysis for design optimization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply design for Six Sigma tools and methodologies to ensure quality and efficiency in design processes.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
  • Graduation Year: 2023 graduates
  • Experience: 0-1 year of experience

Skills and Competencies:

  • Automotive Powertrain: Basic understanding or entry-level experience in automotive powertrain.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills within the mechanical domain.
  • Component Design: Knowledge of differentials, gears, bearings, splines, castings, forgings, and stampings.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • GD&T and Enovia: Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and experience working in an Enovia environment to release designs and models.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, design of components, and engineering standards.
