Introduction: Join our dynamic Instana Issue Detection team as a Backend Software Engineer in San Jose. At Instana, we handle and analyze millions of spans, traces, metrics, and events per second, delivering actionable APM intelligence to our rapidly growing customer base. You’ll contribute to expanding Instana’s Issue Detection and Resolution platform, encompassing the entire software engineering life cycle from technical design to implementation, quality assurance, and production maintenance.
Your Role and Responsibilities: As a Frontend Software Engineer in the Team EndUserMonitoring at IBM’s Kochi office, you will collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, frontend and backend engineers to (re)design and implement features, delivering new capabilities for our product. Your contributions will be crucial in helping organizations identify and troubleshoot issues that impact user experience and optimize their applications for better performance and user satisfaction. We seek engineers curious about learning new technologies and excited by solving complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement frontend solutions.
- Work on the technical design and implementation of new features.
- Ensure high-quality code through automated testing and CI/CD processes.
- Contribute to the maintenance and support of production systems.
- Participate in customer interviews and requirement engineering tasks when needed.
- Support backend engineers in integrating frontend solutions with backend systems.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- Solid knowledge of tools used in the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and test automation.
- Proficiency in JavaScript.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS, including concepts like modularization, accessibility, and layout.
- Experience with React, including React hooks and technical component design.
- Quick learner, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication skills.
