How the ATS score works

What is an ATS resume score?
Most employers screen applications with an applicant tracking system (ATS), which reads your resume as text and matches it against the job. The score shows how well an ATS can read your resume and how many of the expected keywords it finds, so you can fix problems before a recruiter ever sees it.
What does the checker look at?
Whether the file parses cleanly (single column, standard headings, no text locked in images or tables), whether your contact details and sections are found, and which skills and keywords for your target role are present or missing.
Which file types can I upload?
PDF, DOCX or plain text, up to 5 MB.
How many scans do I get?
Each account includes 3 scans per calendar month. The count resets on the 1st of the month.
How do I raise my score?
Use a single-column layout with standard section headings, spell skills the way job ads spell them, put your most relevant skills in a Skills section, and start bullet points with a verb and a result. The resume maker builds a resume in this format.
